What an awesome Saturday! =)

I just had to share! :)

I just finished a 5k walk in downtown St. Louis this a.m. for the Komen Race for the Cure to fight Breast Cancer. I walked sooooo much today! I wore my pedometer to gauge my steps. While I was down there I did over 13,000 steps!  I’ve had days where I barely walk 8-10,000. So this was great to get in so much before lunch! :)

It was for a great cause, and I got a great workout! :) Have an awesome Saturday Buddyslimmers! (((hugs)))

Walk, walk, walk…. =)

I’ve really been loving my walking lately.  I’ve even been jogging a little, on the treadmill :) Yay!!!

So, because it’s been a great motivator, I signed up for a local affiliate for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure 5k run/family fun walk in June.  Some friends and I are walking in honor of a mom at our elementary school, who is only 35 and is battling breast cancer. :( We are hoping to really rally for her!   The walk should be awesome! And it’s for a great cause.

Just wanted to share my excitement…..maybe one day I’ll actually RUN! lol!!

Got my MoJo back ;) lol!!

What an awesome weekend it has been for my motivation!  I walked 4 1/2 miles yesterday with a girlfriend.  When we were gabbing and walking, the miles fly by. :)

I really am proud of myself for finding my MoJo again ;)  I haven’t felt myself for awhile now.  Losing the 3 lbs this week and breaking my plateau has given me a newfound energy.  It’s funny….I try to stay positive when the scale doesn’t move, but when it’s acting like it has for the past few weeks, you get really discouraged. :(

This journey isn’t easy, but I keep reminding myself that the payoff is soooooo worth the effort! :) Have a great Sunday Buddy Slimmers!!

Breaking a plateau…finally! =)

It seems like I’ve been battling the same few pounds up and down.  I’ll maintain for awhile, then lose a lb, then maintain, then gain a lb.  It gets to be frustrating.  I appreciate all the support from my fellow BSrs…..It means so much to not be so alone in this weight loss battle.  Some of you are already near or at your goal, and please know you are all SUCH an inspiration! :)

Well, I got on the scale this a.m. and it showed a 3 lb loss!!! I just didn’t believe it.   I moved the scale across the floor and tried again…..still 3 gone….so I waited and moved the scale again…..STILL 3 gone!! :) I was ecstatic!!! I’ve kept a positive attitude thru all the gains, but losing really gives you that little extra “UMPHHH” you need to feel good about yourself and the hard work! :) ((Hugs to all))

Feeling better….

My oldest and I must have gotten a tummy bug this week. It can really wreck havoc on your routine.  It seems the minute I get going something happens.

Oh well, getting back on the wagon today.  My tummy is still not feeling right, but trying the best I can to eat ok and get my water in. :)

I’ve still managed my walk away the pounds dvd and treadmill, so that feels good.

Hope everyone is having a great week!!! :)

Willpower…

I’m very proud of myself today.  I’ve been in a bit of a funk, even gaining a pound this week for weigh in… :(    So I was at Wal-Mart this afternoon, and went down the diet/supplement aisle…..actually picked up a box of Slim Quick…….almost put it in the cart……then somewhere in my head I heard  “YOU MORON!!!! PUT THAT BACK THIS MINUTE!!!!!!” So I did….

I have to realize I have to be the one to make this happen….not a pill in a box.  I do Slim-Fast shakes sometimes when I’m busy for breakfast, but those help me get in some good vitamins and nutrients in a hurry.   The pills will probably make me feel sick.  I know with proper eating and moving my darn butt, I’ll make this happen.  I’ve done it before, but I’m just feeling down about it lately.

Tomorrow I’ll really get in some moving….We are having the 4th annual Erin’s W.I.N.G.S 5k walk/run in the a.m. in honor of my late niece.  I’ll be walking again….maybe next year, for her, I’ll try to run (or jog, ;) lol!! )

The pedometer has been a faithful companion on my hip lately, and it does really help keep me in check with how much I’m moving.

Have a great weekend everyone, and thanks for listening!!

Starting and stopping.

I’ve been down this road soooooo many times. I don’t even tell people anymore what I’m trying to do…(eyes rolling in their heads) :)  But I realized, no matter what, I always keep going, keep trying, to be healthy, happy and lighter.

My pedometer has become my new best friend. I hadn’t worn it for awhile, then the battery died. So, got a new battery and a new friend ;)  Yesterday was the first day, and I logged over 10,000 steps, 2.5 miles of which was a power walk at a local mall (was cold out, warm inside) lol!  So now, I can be accountable for my moving and grooving….I am not going to be sedentary!!!! I have 3 kids to keep up with :)

Have a great day buddies!!

Spring?!

I’ve been so sick and tired of being cooped up!!! And for a little while, I actually was able to go out and walk and enjoy Spring….Now today, SNOW??!! AARRGGHHH!!!  Just had to vent. :) lol!!!

3 reasons I want to get healthy… ;)

Gracie, Ruby and Charlie. What 3 better reasons to want to be healthier?! I don’t want to be the tired mommy, the one who won’t go on the slides or go to the pool because I’m self-concious.

I guess I’m on a roll. No posts in over a few months, now 2 in 1 night… ;) just feels good to be excited again.

Finally feeling like myself again. :)

Well, it’s been a looooonnnnggg time since my last post. I just really got in a funk I guess.  With Spring here, the weather has been much better, and I guess I feel sort of a re-birth about excercise and eating well again.  I hate the starting and stopping that I am prone to, but each day is a new start.

Now that my oldest is in First Grade, and my 3 year old is now in pre-school, my youngest who is 2 and I will have more time just the two of us. While Ruby is in pre-school, I’m going to pack the stroller and put my son in it so I can get in some walking when the weather is nice for the 3 hours she is there.  I’m excited about getting in the groove again.  The treadmill has just been my nemisis lately.  I’ve gotten really bored. I’ve got to spice it up.

I’ve done alot of at home excercise, walking the treadmill, dvd’s, free weights, chasing my 3 kids :) lol!!  But the change in the weather has been the major factor in my excitement about moving my body again.  It’s really true how much we need the sunshine and such. It does the body good.

Just wanted to share  and hope everyone has an awesome night. ((Hugs)) :)
